So I have had my iPhone X since launch of last year. Had a few issues with it freezing up at the very beginning, but it went away. Since iOS 12 though it’s been constant freezing and locking up. It can go on for a good minute. I have contacted Apple a couple of times, and we got to the point of them saying I need to reset my phone and set up as new to see if it the OS that acting up. I want no part of setting up as new. I have two watches, so I would have to set those up again, and the whole phone.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Anyone having the same issue?

No issues like that whatsoever on my X but, I set the phone up as new when I first got it. If I was having issues, I wouldn’t hesitate to restore and set up as new. This is the first step to see if it’s software related. If you have an encrypted backup on ITunes you can always return it to its prior state if setting up as new doesn’t fix your issues

My X doesn't freeze up outright, but it seems to become laggy or unresponsive in certain apps throughout the day, and I have to power cycle the phone to alleviate the issue. A few examples are the settings app, if I try to scroll down it will get hung up and I have to keep swiping to make it move, there's no fluidity and it doesn't keep scrolling. Another is when I'm in the messages app and I'm swiping from left to right to select an animoji and it rubber bands back and forth and will get stuck on one character. I'm considering doing an iTunes restore later today to see if it fixes the problem outright, but I have a feeling it won't.
