Other iPhone X MacBook Pro and WiFi passwords

I have a wifi code saved on my iPhone so it can access my inlaws WiFi. If I turn my MacBook Pro on will it access their WiFi? Is it saved in my keychain?

does it need to be backed up before it does? It worked but when I tried at my parents it didn't work. very strange.

Nope. Not related to backup at all. WiFi data is stored on iCloud Keychain and will just work if the iCloud sync is working properly.
