hi guys,

I’ve setup dad’s iPhone X (iOS 11.1) - restore everything from iCloud. Everything else is working just fine apart from mail application isn’t working - No email (Hotmail.com) display and I can’t find any setup new account mail from the “setting” icons.

another issue:

I've sent email from gmail to hotmail to see which one get first - iPhone 6+ or X

I don't know why I'm not getting any email from the X but 6+ always get like a realtime.

how can I change the setting from hotmail to iPhone X faster

Did you use the outlook option or the exchange option when adding the account?

Setup Hotmail as Exchange. I have mine setup this way and it works great. The exchange server address is: outlook.office365.com

Iphone x was setup as a new phone - want to keep thing fresh and I can't remember how I did with hotmail email set-up, I've delete mail setting from iCloud and re-setup once again...

I think they are working now, I'm gonna test few more times tonight and tomorrow...

what's different between exchange and outlook?

Outlook tends to be a fetch service.

Exchange is push.

The difference is fetch will wait for you to open the mail app and get the messages (depending on settings as it can be set to check for mail at set durations) where as push will pop up.

It was quite delayed and unreliable when Hotmail was setup as an IMAP account. Things run very smoothly now that it is setup as an Exchange account with push email.
