This is the second thread about it. Let me add another for fairness reasons: Notcho.

The good thing about Notcho is that it corresponds with the curve radius on the bottom.

Doesn’t make sense. Doesn’t hide anything. Doesn’t work in apps where you will spend the majority of your time anyway.

Negative.

Before release, I adamantly thought that’s how Apple should’ve handled the notch system-wide.

Now after using it for over a week, and finding it to be very unobtrusive... these wallpapers make it look just plain ugly. It looks like a giant bezel.

Not to mention, who just stares at their home screen? That’s the only time these would “hide” the notch, yet that is probably the place where you’ll spend the least amount of time when using your phone, since the whole purpose of the phone is to use apps.

Utterly pointless.

And to charge money for it? Just to change a wallpaper? Wtf is this ****?

Good Ol' US of A
You know, I always disliked having electrical light switches on my nice wall. It ruined the otherwise clean flow of it.
But then I realized that my obsession with it was fueling my desires for it to be removed.
And here I am 22 years later and I barely notice the architectural eyesores that are electrical light switches.
It's called overcoming an obsessive and childish impulse to clear away something that is an obvious deal breaker, and yet you still buy it.

Now, realize that the notch is now a feature. And that next year's models will all have it and begin preparing your decision to leave for another phone maker.
Because the notch is not going away with some wallpaper app that only affects your home screen.

It's gonna take all of us to tell Apple that sometimes branding does not trump aesthetic.
But hey, what do I know? I used to be obsessed with light switches.

Do people really sit there staring at the TrueDepth camera? I don't even focus on it. I love how apps stretch to all four corners so I wouldn't trade what we have now for a bezel.

For whatever reason, you guys are missing the point. This app isn't mandatory even for those who love their precious notch, it's for those who'd like to cover it up. Sounds like the mere option of buying that app inconveniences any of you.

99ct? Hello? If it takes you 15 mins. to google the screen size and draw it up yourself you still come out on top if you earn $3.99/hr. Whatever your time is really worth, though. Since you don't need it, not doing either shouldn't bother you too much.

Yeah, but I change my wallpapers all the time. I don't want to spend 15min every time I want to update a wallpaper...

The only place I find the notch intrusive is when reading an article in reader mode, the words at the beginning and end of the top line are there as you scroll. So I have to read further down to avoid that.
