Hello fellas, since I have my iPhone X I’m very sad about that phone (I might swap back to 8+ I guess). Anyway, since the 3rd of November I have get my iPhone replaced 3 times:

1. Speaker problems
2. Dust under camera lens
3. Speaker problems

.... and you guess it, now it will be the 4th time.

The side button seems to be a bit faulty.
Siri often triggers herself and my calls break up (cuz it will close calls using that button)

Anyway, I need an iPhone with iOS 11.1.x at most - no, not for that particular reason you might think I do. I am an App Developer and our Test-Apps have iOS 11.1 as target OS (yet) and my i and my colleagues prefer to work on the same iOS version. Now I’m using my girlfriend’s iP7 in Roségold. And yea neither her nor my boss (ofc, security reasons) aren’t amused about that. But yea anyway.
If I talk to Apple and tell them to send me as replacement unit one which has been produced the last in week 47, will they do that? Or is that process which device is being sent more or less random?
I really need one between iOS 11.1 (best is iOS 11.1) and iOS 11.1.2 (neither iOS 11.0 is an option anymore, also I guess there aren’t even iOS 11.0 devices anymore lol)
Or do you guys have tips to get that? Apple store is not an option because ive some projects I’ve to finish asap and hence have no time for the next few time (that’s why I rely on Express Replacement)

I know they won’t. But I assume their refurbished phones won’t be on iOS 11.2 - at least not all of them
right? My question is if I can ask them to send me a device with a production week < 47, or better said VK for iOS 11.0 or VQ for iOS 11.1.2

You can ask Apple for that but, I think they are going to tell that you that they can't promise you that the phone you get will have the OS you want.

What he said^^^.

Doubt Apple tracks the refurbs by mfg week and or OS version on it. And even if they do, probably won't take the time to to dig through the big pile of devices to find one that matches the request.

Cost of doing business. Keep the X for development, and use/get the 8+ for personal use. If camera and speakers are not critical for the app, why keep jumping through hoops? Yes, not cheap, but, never liked the idea of using real-world-use/production device for test/QA, imo.
