I did this last year when I did the iUP on the 8 plus. when the pre-approve window of opportunity opens, I believe you select the model, color, storage size then prompt with entering your payment info then simply hit okay. It will check and if you are approved then you wait till pre order and proceed with a final check out.

Pre order is Friday of that week so would it be Thursday if it’s on Friday ?
Right it could be that night or the day after but before the pre-order day. This year is different because the event is on a Wednesday. So quite possible.

You are guessing about the start of preorders, too.

Apple will probably announce that schedule during the event, and may not necessarily be the same for each event.

Preorders never happen on weekends
(?) You are still guessing, but, yeah, weekends would be unlikely, IMHO. (Not sure if you can use the word "never" around Apple  )
However, a weekend would be better for those poor folks that feel the need to go "first-day" on the new release, but still have to go to work the next day...
I think the only part that you can assume, is that Apple will decide when preorders start.

What information will I need ?

Will I have to put in my dad social and the credit card that was used again?

I won’t need Citzen logging for the process right ?

After picking up my iPhone X plus 64GB in the online store for preapproval procees what do I click before so it takes me to the device I want to upgrade ?

When I picked my device and stuff what do I click on preorder night on iPhone upgrade program?

What if you never used the AUP? Can you get pre-approved this way as well? Was thinking of going this route this year and want to be ready to go for launch night. No surprises.

Who knows, last year, the pre-approval was only for those who were currently enrolled in in iUP. We won't know for sure yet this year until Apple launches the device and how they will want to do it this time around.
