Have any of you used In Store Pick-Up for a pre-ordered iPhone? If so, how'd it go? Would you say it has the same chance to get a pick-up day on launch day versus receiving it on launch day at home via mail? You may also discuss amongst yourselves. :p Thanks!

It worked last year for me with the 7plus. I was at the store when it opened and had them place the order. (Regretted that when I found out it cost me $30 more than online would have). My phone came in very quickly and the store employees were jealous and said wow how did you get that so fast. That being said there were several others that came that same day, so not like I lucked out majorly.

I have done it, i live in a smaller town so I have the best chances to get what I want on launch. Plus I make a 8am pickup time if I were to do mail it would be like 1pm..you have to pick a time window so it’s one extra screen then shipped..

They didn’t do in store pickup for the 7+. Not in the Apple stores at least. So I had to wait in front of ATT all night instead...

Great! Luckily, if you use the app, the screen for available times doesn't take too long to load and you can easily back out and select shipping! Also, have over 5 Apple Stores in the area... but millions around. Haha.

I did it for the iPhone 6. All the buzz and excitement around the store made the pick up experience a lot of fun. Recommend to do it at least once.

Really hope they won't be all gone and snatched up by the pre-approved IUP people!

As a IUP person, I can say that Apple must have allocated some in store pickups to us this time around. I didn't get into the app until 12:12am PT and while phones were already in the 2-3 week delay period, I was still able to select a Nov 3 pickup time at my closest Apple Store. Even those must have sold out at some point...
