Hi,

When my iPhone rings (I’m using the new X ringtone, reflection), if it’s propped up on my desk in its holder, the ringtone volume is really low. When iPhone is flat, it’s loud. If I raise iPhone mid ring, it goes low again. Is this a feature?
I upgraded to the iPhone X from a iPhone 6 Plus so have missed out on lots of the features like 3D Touch etc. This also happens if it’s vertical in trouser/shirt pocket. I’ve missed calls as volume is really decreased.
Is this normal? Is there a way to switch it off if it is a feature?

Edit: found it. It’s a setting under Face ID called attention aware. Super annoying, switched off.

Yes this is a feature with the attention aware features. I really like that when my alarm goes off in the morning, once I look at my phone, the volume turns down.

Thanks, so no way to switch it off, as useful for alarms, but not so much pockets?
