Hello,
I have an iphone X that I am trying to repair. I get a message that says support.apple.com/iphone/restore with a picture of a computer and a charging cord. When I plug it into the computer and try to restore it comes back and says it cant and it will have to default it through itunes. When I try to do this the iphone appears to restart and ultimately fail. Any ideas what is going on and if it can be fixed?

What is the error code? If it's 4013, then you have a faulty front sensor flex cable.

Yes, it is. The sensors from your original cable (proximity sensor and ambient light sensor) must be transferred over by soldering to a new cable to preserve Face ID, True Tone, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor functionality.

Wonderful. Thank you for your help. Is it a DIY project? Do you know of any places that list the specific tools you need and step by step?
