I have a iPhone X and today I noticed a little scratch on the screen, is that anything to be nervous about?

Also, if you prefer to go "naked", put the phone only in pockets with out metal (keys, coins, knifes, etc, etc).

Glass will scratch and even crack. Depends on how well you take care of it. However, you will see wear and tear sometime or another. I personally use tempered glass protector and a clear case, to reduce wear and tear on the phone.

It's likely a superficial scratch on the oleophobic coating. Unfortunately there isn't much of a remedy to have it removed, but a screen protector will conceal the scratch and prevent any future scratches.

This is why I put a screen protector on my phones the moment they come out of the box.

I despise screen protectors because they rip off the olephobic coating on the screen. So if you ever remove it in the future, your screen becomes a major fingerprint and oil magnet, it’s disgusting. Just have to be careful and not have anything in your pocket that could scratch it. People toss around these $700-$1000 devices like they are old school Gameboys. Being gentle goes a long way.

I've never had the Oleophobic layer come off from a screen protector. I don't toss around my phone and I still occasionally drop it because I'm clumsy.

The overall bond between the oleophobic coating and the glass is stronger than the bond between the screen protector and the coating, its likely it won't be removed when the screen/glass protector is installed.

What screen protectors do you guys recommend? Also, I don’t think it’s on the glass because when I try do rub my finger over it, it doesn’t seem to be different

I already have a case

I've used Skinomi (the thin tough screen protectors, not tempered glass) on my iPhone 6, when I removed it it removed the oleophobic coating because fingerprints were sticking every time I touched my screen.

Same thing with an SE when I removed a tempered glass screen protector (forget the brand, I think it was Skinomi as well, it wasn't some Chinese brand off of Amazon). fingerprints everywhere.

Same thing with an iPad Pro. After that I learned my lesson. It DOES make a difference, whether or not it removes the coating entirely, I don't know, but fingerprints start to show on the screen like nothing else.
