Don't know if it's just me or some sort of new feature Apple has added.

I get the little red circle telling me i have mail, but when i open mail there is no new email there.

If i then wait for mail to do an update, then the new email pops up.

Is this a bug, surly it's not supposed to be like that.

Is this happening to anyone else.

I’ve been getting this. Get a notification but when I go into the email app I have to refresh it to see it on the X none of the updates have helped. Also not all the email notifications are being shown so I am missing emails.

There are numerous threads about this all over the forums. Mail app is a real mess right now.

I’m noticing I get (some of) the email notification(s). I then open the app and the Mail is there with today’s current time stamp, but the email is a day late.

Can you point me towards these threads that have my specific problem as i couldn't find any, i want to see if anyone has found a resolution to it.

Here’s one I started last Tuesday. Remember search is your friend.

I havent noticed any issues on 13.1.1.....yet. I was getting this with 13 and 13.1 tho. I would have a notification but no new mail. I would have to refresh or close and reopen the app to get mail.

This must be quite embarrassing for Apple so i would think they will sort it pretty quickly.

Had enough. Some important mail went into junk from people I always contact. Not sure what the heck is going on.

I have had similar issues with the emails not coming in until I open the app. Also I sometimes have to open emails twice to get the unread status to go away, and other times I have to move the messages to folders more than once. These iOS 13 bugs are getting annoying!

I've been having all of these issues since iOS13 release. After speaking with Apple I think I've finally sorted mine out. You may not need to follow the first steps as I assume it was the second onces that actually resolved it but this is what we went through.

First Steps
- Remove all mail accounts
- Delete native mail app
- Download native mail app from App Store (DO NOT OPEN IT)
- Restart phone

Second Steps
-
Plug phone into pc/mac and open iTunes (ensure iTunes is up to date)
- On phone hold down power and volume down buttons until iTunes tells you phone is in recovery mode.
- In iTunes click the option to update to latest iOS (even though you are already on it)
- After phone boots back up readd your mail accounts.

Hopefully they will all work as expected after this.

glad I’m not the only one with this annoying bug

The fix is insane and shouldn’t be necessary.

I did this and it did not work.

I have the same issues on both my iPhone X and iPad Pro.
Additionally, if I open a mail on one device, it will only mark them as 'read' on my other devices when I manually update my list of emails.

When I turn on the unread email filter in Mail, so that only unread emails are displayed, it seems like the new emails show up in the mail inbox immediately. Anyone else notice this?

Me too but when I’ve read it, it still stays in the unread list but without the blue dot.
