80% sure since updating to ios13 my silent switcher has stopped working (occasionally works).

Went to store yesterday he tried to clean it and did a reboot and didn’t change anything, completely reset my phone last night and still not working.

I’m sure it stopped working when I got ios13. Can still turn silent mode off and on in settings.

Anyone else had same problem ?

Restore the phone using iTunes and setup as new(don’t use your backup). If the silence/vibrate switch works again you’ll know it’s a software problem, if it still doesn’t work it’s a hardware issue..

Can I just erase phone and set up as new without using iTunes ?

When you restore using iTunes it completely downloads and installs a fresh version of iOS so it’s a pristine install. When you erase all contents and settings it only removes just what it says literally and keeps the operating system that is already on your device. If your having software issues you’ll keep having them because all you did was remove content and the software didn’t change

Slightly off topic, but for some reason there seems to be some disagreement on that point based on a recent discussion at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/bypass-ios-update-after-reset.2209642/
Interesting read. When I’ve used erase all contents and settings it takes hardly any time for it to happen, when I’ve restored with iTunes it takes awhile going through several progress bars and Apple logos. i also remember reading a thread on this forum where using erase all content and settings was how he kept and unsigned version of iOS on his device.. I’ll try and find the thread if possible

That has basically been my understanding and past experience as well.
