Hello everyone, yesterday I noticed what could be a problem on my iPhone x.

When I set the default magenta-blue live wallpaper on the passcode screen a big stain is displayed on the screen, it only happens when the screen brightness is half of the sun icon and the environment is dark.

making a screenshot of this.. if I watch it with the iPhone locked, it have the stain, and if I watch the screenshot from the image library it looks perfect.

But , if I watch the screenshot from the image library and decrease the phone brightness to minimum I see another stain moving on the red... like this picture

If I increase the brightness the stain disappears.

Should I change the phone or is it a software problem that everyone has?

I don't know what's the problem with your phone, but I can tell you this: I'm on my 3 iPhone X, I exchanged yesterday for a new one. The first phone had a camera problem, the second phone had a pinkish tint on the right edge of the phone, I was about to embrace that pink, but for $1000 that was not aceptable. So, very reluctant I decided to go to the near Apple Store to check the phones that they have on display to check if this pinkish tint was common, to my surprise and my well being state of mind, it was not, those iPhones did not had the pink on the right side. So, I replaced my phone and I'm very glad I did, finally... the 3 iPhone is perfect. I'm keeping this one, but I was about to embrace the pink. My advice is: if your are not happy with your device, exchange it for another, customer satisfaction is number one, and Apple without questions honor their policy, as long is in the time frame to make an exchange. The only thing I cans say is: Thank you Apple and I will buy from you again!

Can you link me some of these discussion ? I search it with 0 result...

Has some pretty hard edges on it to be a stain. What was behind this screen, maybe the transparency effect?

I don't know what is this but I think is a hardware problem ....

What is the first problem ?

The camera had a problem focusing and suddenly when taking a picture it locked the phone to the welcome screen but the welcome screen was in "landscape mode" and it was imposible to use faceid or unlock with the passcode, the only way to turn on the phone was to restart the phone completely. I showed this to them and they exchanged without a problem.

people in this thread are not paying attention.the only way you can see the above issue is making sure your on the same wallpaper and by going with a passcode before unlocking, make sure you tried to miss the face id so you go to a passcode instead and you will see this.im sure you guys have this issue you just dont care

I recently noticed that my iPhone X unlocked bought on December had iOS 11.2, there were only 2 ipsw at that time, one belong to Verizon-Spring and the other to the ATT-Tmobile, with iOS 11.2.2 on January a third ipsw appear only for the international unlocked. At that time I tried to downgrade to iOS 11.2 but I did not know which one to choose between the Verizon and the ATT ipsw file, so I did not downgrade the phone. Maybe this was the cause for the malfunctioning camera. My iPhone came installed with a wrong ipsw.

In this discussions if all the people take the screenshot the problem goes away , but if i take the screenshot and watch it with minimum brightness one new stain in clearly visible !! And it's moving !

The STAIN ON BLUE is visible only with LOCKED PHONE AND LOW BRIGHTNESS
but STAIN ON RED is visible on MINIMUM BRIGHTNESS with phone UNLOCKED from the image library....

Talked with the support !
The first is normal
But the last one ( the red ) that appears only with minimum brightness is not normal they said.

This last one is flickering , if I zoom on this area the stain change. This is not normal.

The first ( the blue one ) is impossible to reproduce with screenshot. This is limited only to passcode screen

nah its normal man.im sure they dont really know whats going on the tech support if you have them replace the screen then thats the worst than this stain.
