Hey, I am a Student looking forward to X upgrading from broken not working iPhone 4s. I am really unsure of the availability of the iPhone X. I am from NZ and I am available to pre-order it the second it goes up for pre-order. But for us, we have to pay $1800 or $1200USD to get the 64GB model(Lucky Americans!XD). And I was thinking to wait for the reviews come out from Youtuber and then buy it.

but confuse if I do that will I be able to get a hands on the model before 2017 ends?
Also If I pre-orders the second it goes up, as NZ got less population will Apple be a **** to us and purposely will delay shipment of the phone until next year because of less population of my country?
And what you guys think will people sell iPhone X on eBay for the humongous amount?
if the phone shipment for late pre-orders is next year?
If I were to buy it from eBay to get it early?

I am really sorry for the questions I love learning new Information and knowing what's happening around me and my decisions sorry I am just a super curious kid thanks! if you have awns for my questions and Thank you very much for reading my awful grammar paragraph!!:D

edit 11/10/2017

Do you think Apple is creating a fake scare to hype up the demand of the phone and sale? or they purposely doing it to increase the sale of the iPhone 8 and next year release phone similar to X and increase it's sale too?

Anybody buying from eBay over an exorbitant price would be foolish just to get a phone. No one here knows how many iPhones will be available at launch, but I can guarantee you, there is a problem with yield, and if you don’t get in on the first day, you’ll be waiting many weeks. Remember, it’s just a phone and if you already have one I believe you can wait it out if you have the patience.

Again, no one here on a forum or any forum can tell you if Apple is creating a fake scare.

If your only reason for not ordering on the first day is in case you don’t like the phone, order it and see. Apple has a 14-day return available, no questions asked.

I feel like bloody Youtubers or the Rich impatience kids might buy. But Youtubers for sure. Phone with high demands and unboxing, destroying or opening of the phone will generate allot of view and for sure Youtuber will be making well over 50K(big Youtubers) after the release of the phone and feel like they won't mind paying over the price for it.

As an employee of an iPhone retailer in NZ, with the big chains there aren't any restocking fees if you return it (but you may get your money back on a gift card instead of a refund if it's not faulty)
Availability usually is very thin, and would most definitely be only available on contract first before it's available outright, and even then you're probably looking at late November/December/January before you can see any actually in stock without preordering
And yes they may decide to ship to Australia more than they ship to us, that does seem like the trend recently

I love my IP8, but I'm going to give the X a shot as soon as it's available to preorder. IF the delivery date stretches into the new year and maybe even into December, I'll cancel the order and get next year's model whenever it debuts.

Anyone can speculate based off anything they want. Apple wants a successful launch and I believe they want to have adequate supply to meet the demand come November 3. I think this year they're offering only two models, so perhaps they can focus on having the necessary supply for at least those who pre-orderer.

I agree with what you said about Apple wanting a successful launch. If they came out of the gate launching the X like they did AirPods it would be a fail IMO.

Hate to play the doom-monger, but I have a feeling that the X will have one of their poorest launch day availability rates we've seen on any iPhone, and demand will be surprisingly high regardless of the exorbitant pricing.

Everybody has an opinion, all equally valid for now. Time will tell. And I’m sure those who are wrong will be here saying they were wrong
