On my old phone (iPhone 6), when I was connected to Verizon WiFi calling the "VZW WiFi" icon would appear where the in the upper left.

I've enable this feature on my X and verified that it works (going to airplane mode and enabling wifi, then making a test call), but I can't really see any indication as to WHEN it is connected to wifi calling. Just the typical wifi bars in the upper right corner.

Is this something that has just gone away due to space limitations in the status bar due to the notch?

I had done that before, but I've figured it out.

I have a Verizon Network Extender in my house (I live in the sticks and have a radiant barrier in my roof, which kills cellular reception), and it was still defaulting to the Network Extender.

I unplugged it and now the "VZW Wi-Fi" icon shows up when looking at control center.

Thanks!

Thanks for the control center tip!

I'll just add that Apple Support had me:
  1. Turn off wifi calling
  2. Reset Network Settings
  3. Rejoin wifi network
  4. Turn on wifi calling
This solved my issue where it wasn't working after upgrading from iPhone 7 to iPhone X.

I am having a similar issue with my iphone X on the AT&T network. I have confirmed that wifi calling is on and working both when airplane mode is on and when it is not, however, when I am in airplane mode, it does not show At&T wifi when I pull down the control center. If I am not in airplane mode, it does show AT&T wifi. Is anyone else seeing this?

Could it be because of some AT&T issues that seem to be going on today? https://www.macrumors.com/2017/11/15/att-network-down-for-some-users/

Exact same thing happens to me! I’m going to try the reset network settings workaround as a last-ditch effort later...so far, turning WiFi calling on and off and restarting the phone hasn’t done the trick.

Edit: reset network settings. No dice. Same problem as before.

[doublepost=1516226710][/doublepost]I got it to work by putting on airplane mode, turning on wifi, making a call (over WiFi) and then turning off airplane mode. Now it shows att WiFi in control panel.

This is still a thing. I had to do this exact procedure tonight to get the AT&T Wi-Fi icon to appear on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Argggh. Thanks for the tip!
