Hey,

I’ve had my iPhone X replaced by apple due a cosmetic defect. They’ve given me a white box replacement but I seem to be having WiFi issues. If I am in say the next room to my wifi router, I have full WiFi single but if I rest my finger or hand towards the top of the phone I start to loose bars. Happens on every WiFi I have tested and only doesn’t happen if I’m in the same room as the router. Have tried all the software options but no luck. Is this normal? I don’t remember seeing this happen on my old one? Many thanks

Definitely not normal and it sounds like a hardware issue. Your finger should not be able to interfere signals especially if you are just at the next room from the router. You might want to consider going back to the shop where you got your device or contact Apple.

You're holding it wrong

No, seriously though is this whilst connecting to 5ghz wifi? if so can you try 2.4ghz and see if it has the same problems.

there is some flaw/issue with iphone x and 5ghz networks. quite a few posts on the net. happens with me and my sky Q router its annoying. Works fine on 2.4ghz though. might be worth a try to see if it makes a difference. or just book it back in at Apple so they can test :)

When Apple replaces a device, they will give you a refurbished device. Normally these are as good as new but they are repaired devices, for either cosmetic reasons or hardware reasons. I would go back to the store and have them replace it with another handset. For the price they charge, you should be entirely satisfied with the device. One that doesn't connect properly to WiFi is hardly my definition of satisfactory situation :>).
