iPhone XR iPhone XR feels slow

Anyone else feel like their XR running slow?
I upgraded from a 7+.
But I still feel like it takes forever to open apps and to load stuff and all.
Anything I should do to resolve the issue?

Maybe try a factory reset and set it up as new (aka don’t restore from a backup).

If that doesnt work, make an appointment to see an Apple store rep about it.

No way should a Xr be slower than a 7+.

For opening apps it depends on the app. If it’s a simple app and not doing much then you don’t really notice it. But if it’s something like my Eve app, which has to initialise HomeKit, then it’s roughly 40% faster.

Doesn’t seem to noticeably for me in. Each generation. I came from 7 plus- 8 plus- max -xr. each jump had no noticeably gain in speed. Even when I use a family members 7 plus it’s the same speed.

From SE,6s,7,8,x,xs they are pretty much the same speed while navigating the UI,the only difference is when loading apps.i have all of them.

OP should probably reset the iPhone. If that doesn’t fix it I’d take it to Apple.
The jump in speed is rendering videos, gaming graphics. But day to day it’s imperceptible.

This is off topic but I remember going from 4-5 was a big jump. 5-5s was also noticeable. 5s to 6 wasn’t a huge leap. 6 to 6s was noticeable in that the extra ram led to big difference in safari refreshing after switching tabs. 6s to 7 was not a big difference. 7-8 wasn’t a big jump either.

TL/DR I wasted a lot of money on IPhones.

yeah i totally agree.i think this time around is not gonna make a big leap interms of speed atleast in day to day screen navigation,hopefully apple will bring the 120hz screen to the newer iphones aswell.fingers crossed

You cannot measure speed by opening Messages app, for example. Try something big. Such as GarageBand or large game. There you can see real difference, and that there is noticeable difference between 7 and XR.

Try reset network settings. If that doesn't work, try reset all settings. Your XR should not be running slow, unless you have 1 or more rogue apps running amok.
