i know there are multiple battery threads out there, but was curious if my issue is an XR issue or iOS issue. (iOS 12.1...no beta testing)

I’ve noticed significant battery drain overnight if I leave WiFi on (upwards of 20% over 6-7 hours). Siri appears as the culprit in battery stats. I turned off all Siri and still had issue.

Turned all back on and turn off WiFi overnight...voila only 1-2% battery drain.

I believe that the phone keeps turning on and off WiFi every so often to try and save battery but causes drain.

I have done a complete wipe and refresh of the phone. Same results.

Any thoughts? Other than turning WiFi off when I go to bed.

Should add that I didn’t have this issue with iPhone 8+ and router has not moved

Thanks

I certainly don’t have that issue with my XR. Also try restarting your router and maybe reset network settings on the phone (you’ll have to re-enter all WFI network info again).

Is your PC syncing over WiFi to your XR?

iPhone syncs over WiFi.

Don’t we all charge our iPhones over night?

I don’t. I get up pretty early in the morning and that’s one less thing I have to fumble with trying not wake up my wife.

My wife’s XR does not have the issue either.
