Hi
Just wondering if anyone can help with my mate's iPhone XR.

Phone works, but when I call his number from my phone, there is a notification on the screen, BUT NO ringing sound!

When I go into settings and check the ringtone volume, it's at maximum, and I can move the volume level slider and I get the ringtone - loud and clear!

Can anyone help me out as to why the phone doesn't ring when called?

I am not that familiar with iOS. My personal phone is a Google Pixel 7.

Hopefully I'm not stating the obvious, but you didn't mention it in your post. Did you check the physical mute switch (top button on left edge of phone) to make sure it wasn't accidently turned on?

If a person is in your contact list, you can designate a specific ring tone and other attributes. Check it out.

Hey I didn't know the XR had a silent/mute switch? I will def check it out.

But if this switch is set to mute, why does the phone make sound when I check the ringtone volume in Settings?
