Anybody else experience this? Setup my new Xs yesterday but when I entered a dark room, the screen gets very washed out. This happens gradually over about a second after waking up and seems to have something to do with the ambient light sensor. See attached photos in regular light and in a dark room. Wife's Xs is fine.

Try turning True Tone off if you haven’t already...
Yep, tried that already. It looks different but certainly still washed out. Tried all of the other display adjustments as well and while it changes the look, the overall issue persists.
 
You have the infamous yellow screen issue. It’s just not as obvious in bright light. Swap it out.

Welcome to the yellow club. I don’t even buy launch day phones anymore. Your chances of getting a yellow one are like 65% or more. Wait 6 weeks for a better shot at a good screen.

Check the accessibility->display settings and make sure the white point adjustment is off. Also check that any other display settings might be not set to normal.
