I think the XS Max battery life is being understated. It seems to be better than the 8 Plus, and at times pretty close to the iPhone XR. Just compare the specs on Apple's website:

I'm not sure why Apple would understate the XS Max battery in their keynote, but it looks like it's going to be really good.

i think its great that apple gives the various usage times by type of usage.
for me, with my own most typical, most critical usage, its really mostly about Internet Use.
therefore, apple is saying to me that the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone Xs Max is about the same.

I guess I don't understand. I see that the XS Max gets 1.5 hours longer than the X, but the X didn't have near the battery life of a Plus phone so how is it going to be better based off of these specs?

The Xs is half an hour longer than the x and the iPhone X had a larger battery than the 8+.

Agreed.. My X gets nowhere near the battery life of my company issues 6S+

Not sure how this will shake out but I would be extremely pleased with + level battery life on the MAX.

i never had much luck with any of my iPhone batteries since the 3G days. I probably use social media too much but i rarely ever hit 7 hours.

And this is with Push, Background Refresh and most location services disabled

Looking forward to increased battery life, always used a plus until the X, the Plus would get me through the day, the X not close.

Sometimes I have to charge my X twice a day, the battery is not near the Plus, I hope the Max really improves on this.
