My wife is really getting frustrated with her Xs. It started last week with not receiving group texts with a mix of Android and iPhone devices, she was missing texts, which come across as MMS from Android devices. Problem is, she was missing replies from iPhones too. It's a mess. If it's just a group of iPhones using iMessage it all works fine.

The odd thing is if one reboots the phone, she'll sometimes get a smattering of these group texts, but not all of them. it's really random.

In further testing, it looks like she can send MMS messages, just not receive them. For instance she can send out pictures to a couple of Android phone, but if either of these phones replies, pictures or just text she gets nothing. One phone sending her an MMS with a picture doesn't work either.

We've tried the turn of MMS, "Reset Network Settings", turn MMS back on and that did absolutely nothing as far as we can tell.

Any ideas? I'm going to try and talk to AT&T today and see if they can get anywhere with it. I got sent to a bot initially and that didn't help.

thanks.

[doublepost=1545080863][/doublepost]I had the same exact thing happen to me. Went through a week of troubleshooting with apple and the service provider. Turns out the new number was flagged as a fraudulent number with some credit reporting agencies which was blocking texts. Had to replace with a new number and all is fine now

wow. you had to get a new number? that wouldn't sit well with with my SO if that's the solution. she'd switch to another carrier or/Android phone first. I read something similar happening to someone on MacObserver and the solution there was deleting the phone number from the system and issuing a new SIM with that number.

so, I got off the phone with AT&T, went automatically to advanced support, which was nice. They said to switch off iMessaging for a while but leave MMS toggled on. They said our iPhone wasn't the first one to be flagged with this exact problem, which is comforting... in a way ;). Their ICU is looking into the broader issue into why this is currently happening to a bunch of iPhones and I'm suppose to hear back in a couple days. I'll report back whatever the resolution is.

Looks like they figured it out at the network level. Backlogged MMS texts came through in a flurry this afternoon. Further testing with Android and Windows Phone group MMS texts and pictures all work fine. Kudos to AT&T for solving the issue. :)
