Hi,

Picked my iPhone up today and screen wasn’t responsive, so I thought I would turn it off and on. Couldn’t swipe off, so I thought I would reboot it. The problem is that there is still a screen fault and I can’t enter the pin as keys 123 and all above including ok wont respond to touch.

Connecting to my MAC is no good, as again I cant enter the passcode.

I have a 6S Plus backup, I can restore with my last backup, but that’s only from the end of January.

My problems are -

- I would like to backup the iPhone
- I would like to wipe and restore the phone to see if that fixes the problem
- If it doesn’t fix, I want to wipe it before taking it in for service

Any advice (apart from do more regular backups)?

Thanks

Well, just to help others in this situation, I took my sim out, and put it in another iPhone, I took off the sim PIN, then put the sim back in the broken iPhone. I was then able, via the Mac, to erase the iPhone, through Find My iPhone. I then connected the iPhone to the Mac and did a full restore (including reinstalling iOS),but the iPhone is still not working, so it seems it is a hardware fault.

Still, the iPhone is now blank and unlocked, so ready for taking in for repair/replacement under guarantee.

iPhone is going to the local authorized repair center next week. I hope I get an Apple refurbished unit rather than a local repair (probably be a better repair, plus a new battery).
