Hi. I just got an iPhone XS with 89% battery health and over the past six days I’m getting an average of 2hrs 35min sot. Each day the battery seems to drain very fast and also heats up a fair bit just using it normally. Is there something wrong with my phone do you think? Thanks for your help.

89% is not a great battery, you already know that, and the XS is not famous for battery life. I get two days per charge out of mine, but that's with a 100% battery and light use, I'm simply not fiddling around with my phone all day. I suspect your phone is probably not faulty but I also don't think you're going to be happy with it.
Is yours a used phone? If so, can you return it or at least insist the battery is replaced?

You should try to limit your screen time, anything over 90 minutes a day is too much time spent on your phone. Just my 2 cents.

Try diming the screen, turning off apps from using cellular data, if you don't need them to and use wifi more then cellular, if it's an option. See if your run time lengthens. Apple won't allow you to spend $ to replace the battery until your battery is much lower...I don't recall, 82% perhaps? You may have to just wait for the privilege to give Apple money or take your chances with an aftermarket battery and DIY.
