Test Benchmark: Geekbench 2.1.9
Test Subject: iPhone 4 Baseband 01.59.00
iOS Versions Tested: 4.3.3, 5.0
Content: 107 songs, 6 videos, 10 photos, 11 applications

Device was restore and setup as a new device for both firmwares. videos and music were played and all apps opened before test. battery life +-@60%.

1. iPhone 4 4.3.3 all apps running scored = 374@808MHz

2. iPhone 4 4.3.3 no app running scored = 378@815MHz

3. iPhone 4 5.0 all apps running scored = 368@703MHz

4. iPhone 4 5.0 no apps running scored = 370@572MHz

Results: Performance lost are minimal to none, actually the i4 runs @ the same performance with a lower processor speed. i4 seams snappier and more responsive overall with a testing time of around 3 to 4 hours.

Test Benchmark: Geekbench 2.1.9
Test Subject: iPad2 WiFi 16GB
iOS Versions Tested: 4.3.3, 5.0
Content: 107 songs, 6 videos, 10 photos, 11 applications

Device was restore and setup as a new device for both firmwares. videos and music were played and all apps opened before test. battery life +-@80%.

1. iPad2 4.3.3 all apps running scored = 748@896MHz

2. iPad2 4.3.3 no app running scored = 752@851MHz

3. iPad2 5.0 all apps running scored = 751@896MHz

4. iPad2 5.0 no apps running scored = 757@896MHz

Results: the iPad2 seams to benefit from iOS 5 more than the iPhone 4 but the results are very similar. the iPad2 is faster and snappier than on 4.3.3 @ same processor speeds. test time was 1 - 2 hours.
