Iphone4 "unable to download application"

For the past couple days my iphone 4 (ios4 4.0.1 jailbroken) I have not been able to download applications or itunes songs. It comes up with an error message ( see below). I am on vacation and don't have access to a Mac until Tuesday. Please help. Any advice is appriciated.

I actually was having similar problems and realized that it was when i installed a jailbreak app to test it, and then decided to purchase it from the app store that I received this message. All you need to do is use iFile to navigate to the applications and you should already see a folder for the problem app. Delete the folder and re-download.

Why would that effect songs?
