Hi, im looking into getting my iPhone insured, im past my 30 days window with O2, and came accross www.iphoneinsuracecover.co.uk

Has anyone else taken this out, or can someone who is in the know let me know if its genuine or not.

Many thanks.

I use TalkCover.co.uk for £49 per year it is much cheaper than O2 and they have just paid up in full (less excess) for my stolen/lost 2G iPhone, so I was able to upgrade to the 3G and pocket £120.

Hm..the insurance is underwritten by red star, certainly not the best insurers out there! I would look elsewhere if i were you.

I'm with talkcover too. Fortunately I haven't had to make a claim, but their credentials all check out :)

A word of warning about iphoneinsurancecover.co.uk

I had a bad experience with iphoneinsurancecover.co.uk. Someone stole my iPhone from right under my nose (a thief distracted me while I was sitting with friends). They put a clause in the contract that just says you must "take reasonable care" which can mean anything really and they used that to try and not pay out for my phone (even though they had insured it for theft!). I had to go to the insurance ombusman and when they saw the facts they made them pay out for the phone but they put up a real fight and it took over a year to get any money back. Just a word of warning...
