Foolish me thought the iPhone was invincible. Mine has been through a lot, and regardless of the situation, it would always come out unhurt. Sadly, this last weekend I went to play beach volleyball with some friends, and it seems a couple of grains of sand made it into my pants' pockets. Mind you these pants were inside my car, and were only worn while at a safe 100ft. distance from the courts.

Needless to say, a few minutes of tossing and turning in there unprotected managed to scratch up my screen a bit. It looked like there was no major damage, just some unsightly streaks that are invisible when the screen is on. But alas, a minute into browsing, I noticed what appeared to be a speck of dust on the lower right quadrant of the screen. Cleaning did nothing, and closer inspection finally revealed what was a tiny ding. Tiny is an overstatement really, but it is so visible that it never fails to catch my attention when the screen goes to white.

I guess there won't be any partying this weekend as I will invest in an iPhone sock or some other form of cover for the screen.
