iPhone's Connected?

When I place my 2 phones on top of each other I get a pop up on both devices that says “(My Name) Connected”. What exactly does it mean and the feature/purpose? I am super overwhelmed with iOS17 and Google has not helped.

it does if you try with somebody else's
