I live in California and want to get the iPhone later today (it's 4am rite now), but I was wondering if an Apple store might have them. I've heard that some red stores on the Apple site actually do have iPhones @ their store. Has that happened to anyone here? I'm going to try the nearest Apple & AT&T stores around to see if I'm lucky enough to get it today. Let's hope.

Well, I don't know about California. But the one in Charlotte had a bunch of 4Gb's on July 4th, when the site said they were sold out there.

Call the store

Yesterday all CA stores showed RED
Called the Glendale Galleria and they had phones...went and got a 8gig
Call the store to find out for sure

I'm in California as well, and saw that all the stores were Red yesterday. I went down to the Century City Apple Store around 11am and found that they had plenty of them, and bought my 8gigs! I came back an hour later to buy a case and they still had plenty. I'd say just check the Apple Stores out around 11ish, after they get their daily FedEx shipments in and see if any of the items they got in that day are iPhones.

Thanks you guys. So there you have it. Just because you're store shows red, there's a possibility that they would have some. I think it works to your advantage because some people are too lazy to call the stores to double check :)
