Hey guys i installed iLife 06 yesterday and i have to say it is faster than the previous version. But i am having a slight problem with iPhoto. You know how in the new version you are supposed to get that black box when you are scrolling that tells you what time period the pictures are from. Well i only get it when i grab the slider on the side of the page and move it up and down. Also i only get it when i am in Last 12 Months and not the Library. I can use the scroll wheel on my mouse and i don't get anything. Does anyone know why this might be?

That's actually the normal behaviour. Nothing to worry about here, I would like Apple to add scroll wheel support in a point release to iPhoto 6 in the future, it would be a good addition to what I believe is a stellar program - massive speed increase from 5 to 6.

EDIT: I get it in both the library and the last 12 months, don't know why you'd be seeing differently but it definitely only happens when you grab the scroll bar and move it.

hey cool. i didn't notice that before - i always use the scroll wheel.
nice touch to an already great piece of software.
not too sure what's going on with the 'on hear, but not there' issue. i get the black box in all lists; well, at least the ones long enough to require a scroll bar.
don't sweat the small stuff crazyeyes. considering some of the other troubles i've been reading in this forum concerning ilife 06, just smile and say 'thank-you mr. jobs for the great updates'.

Hmm, this is weird, when I put the mouse pointer in the scroll bar and use the scroll ball, the info box does come up, it's only there when I'm using the ball but it definitely comes up.

ok, maybe i miss-spoke. the box never comes up for me when i use the scroll wheel, no matter where the mouse pointer is. the box only is visible when dragging the scroll bar.
if you get it when your pointer is 'in the lane' shall we say, then that is weird.
then again, i am using a thrid party logitech mouse so who knows.
