I've been really impressed with the enhance button in iPhoto 2 which does a great job at sorting out the levels in my scanned and digital photos.
Some of my images have noticeable pixelation on contrasty edges and when I enhance them they seem to magically become less pixelated. It looks good. However, go forward one picture, then back again and the softening effect has gone and they don't look quite so good.
The levels adjustment is a valuable feature, but is there some temporary quartz trickery going on to increase the WOW factor?
Does anyone care? Probably not. iPhoto 2 is much quicker on my FP iMac, and just about usable on my iBook 500. it has some great features and it's free!
Sorry, I should have posted this in the thread about legitamate iMove/iPhoto comments. Perhaps someone with god-like powers can move it there.
