iPhoto 6.0.3 (or 4 can't remember) Problems

I downloaded the most recent version (6.0.4) of iPhoto tonight and have had nothing but problems. First it asked me something about resetting my thumbnails and I said yes. Well, all of my thumbnails went away (not with lines through them) they were blank. Then I attempted to import my old library and kept getting an error message. Then all of my photos went away I mean ALL of them. I have NO pictures and I had over 5,000. Any ideas? I was thinking about taking it to the Apple store tomorrow. Should I?

HELP, My wife is going to kill me.

Hey, wait a second, she has all of the photos on her iPod. Can I get them from there?

In the iPhoto Library folder within Pictures, can you still find your photos? If so, make a copy of this folder and put it somewhere safe as backup. Now, try rebuilding your iPhoto library.
