Hey people,
I just wondered if there was anyway to stop iPhoto from starting automatically when i pluged in camera. it slows down my system and is annoying. ive looked in iPhoto preferences and found nothing.
many thanks in advance.

Open "Image capture.app" (it's in your applications folder)
Hit command "," to open it's preferences (or open it via menu-bar)
In the preference window choose "No application" from the "When camera is connected, open:" drop down menu.

That's because iPhoto doesn't open itself upon connecting a camera; that's what Image Capture does. Open that program, and you can change the preferences so it doesn't open anything when you plug your camera.

Just go into Image Capture and change it like this:
Yeah, I refill my coffee and look what happens ;)

Now I didn't know about this handy little shortcut!
And a quick play on this end seems to reveal that it works in all applications to open up Preference!

Thanks mate.
