Somehow my iphoto is broken since the ML upgrade.
Do you have the same problems.

I cannot swipe back/forth between pictures.
Sometimes the gesture stops working everywhere so I unchecked it in trackpad prefs and rechecked it. It works in all other apps like Chrome, Pathfinder.
Not in iTunes.

So I used BTT to map the gesture to the cursor keys.
I am quite sure that I remember that when opening an event a page back swipe got me back to the event overview page, which the cursor left/right obviously do not.
Nor can I find any other short cut like CMD+[ to go back.
Using BTT and mapping 3 finger swipe back also does nothing.
At least knowing such a keyboard short cut would be nice.

It is weird. I manage most of my gestures with BTT(0.785) because I think that the defaults are both stupid and not enough. The simple swipes though are just enabled in the normal trackpad prefs. Same setup I had in SL too.

It's annoying, and I don't know why they changed it, but you can still swipe back and forth as long as you do it over the thumbnails at the bottom of the window.

I would like to know what the goal is here. Killing off usability or something. ML gets some nice fluidity in browser but other than that it does everything worse in usability and nothing better.

Anybody knows a universal keyboard short cut that triggers the back arrow on the top left of the main Window. Where you go back to the overview.
I would like to set a gesture in BTT but I need a trigger to map to.

I'm not sure what you two are talking about. I just loaded up iPhoto and was able to swipe back and forth from photo to photo. When I hover over the thumbnails and swipe, it just scrolls left and right through the thumbnails.

It sounds like something is set incorrectly in your trackpad preferences.

What iphoto and OSX versions are you running.

My trackpad prefs cannot have an error if every other application works.
It is either a bug or a feature.

I found the reason though. They simply did break any kind of back forward swiping. Which unfortunately also breaks every mouse that uses those triggers.
If one uses the 2 finger scroll setting it works again albeit differently (with animation).

One has to ask though why break it for everyone else who doesn't want the two finger scroll? What is the point of still enabling it in trackpad prefs when the app reads it as a different trigger.
It is an annoyingly useless animation and when I set two finger scroll I break every apps that only use back/forward.

My solution now is to reanable two finger scroll and pair it with a three finger swipe global set to CMD+[ and three finger swipe back and the forward equivalent.
It still doesn't get me any kind of back gesture in the iphoto overview. Since the two finger scroll doesn't help there and the swiping is just disabled. Do you guys that say it works have any gesture for that too.

For me the only well done gesture in ML is the one for the notification bar.
