I wonder if there's any chance that iPhoto will get the ability to burn PhotoCD's. I have a PhotoCD ( pic1, pic2 ) that happily plays PhotoCD's and it'd be great to be able to bring a CD down and view the images on my 27" VVEGA.

A royalty would have to be paid by Apple, to Kodak, to enable this I fear.

If enough people request it I am pretty sure it will appear if enough people request it.

I would advise posting on the mac os x feedback page.

What about a CD with Photos on it without the brand of "Photo CD"

maybe not so unlikely

remember who prints all of apple's iphoto prints? thats right, it's Kodak - i can't imagine they couldn't work out some kind of digital photo alliance. i think we could see photo cd burning in the next iphoto.

Wasn't support for at least viewing Kodak PhotoCDs built into OS 9? I remember having that extension launch automatically at startup. I don't see why it would be that big of a deal for Kodak to allow this for a cheap fee. As you already pointed out, iPhoto already uses their services.
