Hi

Would appreciate some help. My iPhone and iCloud website show 18K photos but my Mac only shows 6k. iCloud photos is not ticked in preferences on the Mac. If I tick it can I see all 18K on the Mac?

Also how do I download all 18K onto a hard drive?

thanks

Josh

sorry to be a nerd about details but it makes a difference on the advice you get

are you really using iPhoto? or Photos - newest version of Photos is 4.0 - so version is good to know

either way (iPhoto or Photos) the easiest way (IMHO) is to connect to the mac and use Photos or iPhoto to transfer the photos to the mac

Then you can back up - (if you wish) by backing up the library to an external disk

HI

I'm using Photos. I am on the latest OS on the Mac (2018 MacBook Air). If I tick "iCloud Photos" on the Mac will it then allow Photos app on the Mac to see all 18K photos? The iPhone is using iCloud photos. What I don't want to happen is the 18K to be deleted from the iCloud and replaced by the 6k.

thanks

Josh
