Hello, I'm using a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5. Great camera, but when I import images to my library (with "Delete originals" checked), it just places the images into a hidden ".Trashes" folder. Then I have to either reformat my memory stick or plug it into a windows machine and delete the hidden folder. Is there any reason for this, and can I somehow disable it? Do I need to empty my iPhoto trash to get rid of the trashed originals? Thank you.

Worth a try. You could also just empty your system trash since your ".trashes" on your memory stick is a trash folder on a removeable drive. One OS X gripe of mine is that you can't do this without emptying the trash on every other mounted drive as well.
