iphoto no longer seeing photos taken with iphone... help please

i have about 450 photos on my camera roll on my iphone. i periodically import photos using iphoto, never had a problem until now. suddenly, every photo i have taken since last tuesday is visible on my phone, but iphoto doesn't see it. i would like to import them.

can anyone help me out?

Is it connecting to iTunes normally, is there any problem with syncing in iTunes?

yes. no other problems.

Just asking to rule out a bad USB cord. Have you tried these steps:

Reboot:
1) Turn on iPhone.
2) Hold Sleep/Wake button (top right) until a red slider appears and says Slide to Power Off.
3) Slide the red slider.
4) Once the chasing lines are gone and the screen is black, hold the Sleep/Wake button for about 2 seconds. Your iPhone is now rebooting.

Hard Reset:
1) Power iPhone on.
2) Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for about 7 seconds, or until the screen turns black.
3) Your iPhone should reboot. If it doesn't don't worry, just hold the Sleep/Wake button for about 2 seconds.

Restore:
1) Connect to iTunes.
2) Allow your iPhone to back up and finish the sync.
3) In the Summary tab, click the Restore button.
4) Click Restore and Update to the confirmation message that appears.
5) Follow on-screen instructions from there on.

i was nervous to try a restore because i thought it might wipe out info that wasn't synced. not so?

Go to: Applications>Image Capture, select preferences, ensure iPhoto is selection in "when camera is connected, open" - you might have previously unselected this when iPhoto starts up and asks you this question.

As long as you sync and backup, you should not lose your photos.

iPhoto will only see photos on the phone that haven't been copied over to the computer. Try taking a couple new pictures with the phone and then reconnect it to the computer and see if they show up as possible to import into iPhoto.
