I have an iPhoto (8.1.2) album which contains a book, and I would like to delete all the photos in the library except the ones used for that book.

I was hoping I could select all the photos for the book, then either do an File-New album from selection or simply drag and drop the selected photos into an empty album, but neither works. All I'm able to do is drag and drop one photo at a time (which is going to take forever to complete).

Is there a better way?
Also, is there a non-propriatory way to keep my book for later (I'm fed up with iPhoto's way of organizing photos and have moved on to Bridge and Lightroom) -I hear it's possible to create a PDF from the book so I can print it using any service I want (Blurb etc.).
