I put my photos on a cd from my pc and put them on the mac in the iphoto libray folder but it will not import the photos it says they maybe the wrong file type but they are jpeg's? or that the photos have insuffient information?

please help me!

What version of iPhoto do you have? What version of OS X? Give us some more info, and maybe we can better determine what the issue is/what is causing it.

Just wondering though, can you view the pictures with Preview?

Also, try control-click on one of the picture files and see what file type it is using "Get Info."

im using mac os 10.4 and the iphoto 5.0.4

i jsut got this new i book!

yes preview will open them! they are .jpg's

When you say you put the photos in the iPhoto Library folder, did you just drag them into iPhoto right off the CD? Or did you put them into the iPhoto Library folder inside your photo's folder?

If you drag the pictures onto the iPhoto icon or an open iPhoto page, they should import properly. Simply placing them in the iPhoto folder doesn't work, sorry.
