Hi, I've an issue whereby I plug in my digital camera via the USB cable, and it pops up as a disc image on the desktop, yet when I open iPhoto, it won't allow me to import, as it says I've not got any camera selected...

Please could anyone with any ideas help me out? Thanks...

You can open iPhoto, and open the disk image on your desktop.
Drag the folder from your camera to iPhoto.

Does the camera show up if you open image capture?

Is your camera in this list, if not it is not compatible

That's not always true. The camera manufacturers update their ranges more often than Apple update that page. My Fuji F10 isn't listed on there but quite happily opened up in iPhoto when I tried it.

To the OP, try Image Capture and let us know what model it is in case it's a brand that others have had to work-around etc.
