My MC297LL 7th Generation iPod plays great thru iHome and IPod2Car Adapters thru the Cord, but since playing on an older found IHome at work 3-4 months ago, It now won't connect to any computer thru any USB cord.

It also makes a clicking noise when placed on 2 of my 3 iHome players when in pause.

Basically it works, plays and charges perfectly, but will not connect to any computer, so I cannot synch it.

Is it the connector? I've searched, but cannot find anything similar on the web, to fix it..

What can I do, besides listening to it - without synching.

Thanks

So... Does anybody have a clue why the iPod can play fine thru the dock connector, but not do anything when connected to any Mac or PC?
It's like a certain wire that allows a PC to know a USB device is connected is bent or not connecting, or something, while it plays on and on and charges.

Maybe brush out the lint? Clean the contacts?

Thanks

It could be the pins on the dock connector or it it can also be a problem with the communication chip that handles the USB transfer.

Get a flashlight and see how the pins look.
