I just wanted to ask if anyone had had a similar situation.
I am based in the UK and sent my iPod 1st Gen back to Apple, received and "Replacement Product Pending" since the 26th December.
By my reckoning that is 6 weeks to the day. Whilst I do appreciate that there has been New Year etc in between, has any one else had this problem? They did say within 6 weeks...

What is the longest that people have waited?
has it been a lot more than that?
Is it different in different countries?
and what should I do if it carries on?!

Thanks and I look forward to your input!

A: Some people on this forum waited less then 6 weeks, just on time, or later than six weeks. For me, it's been 2 days after 6 weeks has passed.

A: Yes.

Is it different in different countries?
A: Yes. US tends to be faster, and it takes time for other countries. When I contacted Apple Service Provide here in my country, they said it is currently taking more than 6 weeks for many people.

and what should I do if it carries on?!
A: Well, just wait patiently. If this was your only iPod, then it may be a problem for you (although I highly doubt there are still people ONLY using the iPod Nano first generation) but Apple is deciding to do this for free, so, why not just wait? You might get a 6th gen, and that would be a huge upgrade for many people, including me.

Thanks for your thoughts Seong.
I do agree with everything you say - I am more than happy to wait patiently (yes, there are plenty more fruit-based products in my technology arsenal!) but I thought someone might be able to tell me that, by contacting a certain place, they might push it forward... wishful thinking methinks!
I am not being in the least bit annoyed with them - I think it is great that they are even bothering to replace them after all this time.
I just hadn't noticed many people saying they have been longer than the allocated 6 weeks and thought this could be an interesting forum question to ask!
