iPod Ipod 2G Touch 2.2 won't stop saying sync

I just got this thing about a week ago and now every time i try and sync it starts syncing but it doesn't show any specific files that its syncing and will go on for hours. Again it lookes sorta like it's doing it but won't.

Edit - It apparently all has to do with the photos. I turn off sync photos and it works..Anyone know why?
