iPod Ipod 30gb

I try to restore my ipod but it doesn't. I click restore-it says ipod software 1.2.1 for ipod- bug fixes. Then it says trouble downloading software unknow error-48... None of my song show up on my ipod.

whats wrong?

Try reinstalling iTunes the same thing happened to my brother that's what he did and it worked
