iPod ipod 4g /20gb click wheel charging problem

hi all
i bought secondhand ipod yesterday.it came with usb charger only.anyway i bought usb 2.0 data cable and connected i-tunes first time on my laptop,i used to see ipod icon on i-tunes .i-tunes automaticly searched my computer for music files and tranfered into ipod,i didnt like songs and decided to delete files from i-tunes.i think i restored my ipod by accident that time,suddenly noticed my ipod's stopped working and i noticed a wall charge icon on ipod's screen before put it into charge i tried to connect i-tunes several time but didnt find ipod nowhere on pc,uninstalled everything which associated with ipod and tried reinstall but nothing pc cant even find a hardware auto.....after all ,i plugged it on the wall but didnt charge,still this icon coming on and i have no idea what to do,please if anyone knows about this issue /help me

In my experience, you need to use the adapter that came with the iPod. I have never been able to do it any other way. In order for the iPod to restart, it has to be plugged into the wall.

but i dont have a wall charger came with ipod i have only usb cable

I've had the same problem.
Just plug it into something that's not a computer or won't put it in hard disc mode.
Mine if formatted for Windows.
I took it to the Apple store, they plugged it into a Macbook Pro, and everything was fine.
So if it's formatted for Windows, plug it into an OS X
If it's formatted for OS X, plug it into Windows.

i dint try on macbook pro
only tried it on my pc (windows)
also i took it to phone repairs and he said
the battery might be faulty.
also/
i looked at it today
and saw another different type of empty battery icon on which like a very tiny battery and there is warning sign on
i have no idea i tried with original apple ipod wall charger but didnt work
if i take it apple store
i am sure it will cost me too much
wait see i maybe find a different way to sort it out
