Hey everyone,
I have an old iPod 4th gen that stopped working about a year ago, the hard drive made a clicking sound every-time it attempted to spin up. Me being the lazy person that I am, I didnt get around to replacing the HD until today. I put a 30gb HD in it and installation went without a hitch except I cannot get the iPod itself to boot up. The apple logo will appear and I can hear the HD spin up except the sequence fails and I get the folder with the exclamation point. I read some posts saying that hitting the iPod against the palm of your hand would override the failed sequence but I have not had any luck. I can get the iPod into disk mode but my MBP wont recognize it in either Finder or iTunes.
I am stuck and have no idea what I should do. Any help is greatly appreciated.
