iPod ipod 5th gen video lock stuck

hello. does anyone know how i can get my ipod working again. i had it connected to my alpine ipod stereo it was working fine. left car for 5mins and when i switched car on ipod wasn,t working. the display is on and even tho i take the lock off the lock symbol stays on and i cant use any of the buttons so i cant reset it or anything. thanx
