Hey guys,

I was about to sell my old 5th generation iPod when I came across this website. http://www.apricorn.com/product_detail.php?type=family&id=42

I have a 30gb model but also have an old water damaged 80gb model that's sitting around. Any idea if I can use the backing of the 80gb model, put it on the working 30gb model and then get the 240gb upgrade kit? I heard the 5th gen iPod has the best sound quality up to date so it would be awesome to have an iPod with 240gb....entire music collection lossless..mmmm

I don't believe that would work since they aren't quite the same sizes. I think there are some places out there where you can buy backings for older models.

This won't work; the sizes will not match. However, ipodzen.com or ifixit.com offer back cases for various models. Also, ebay wouldn't hurt.
